Within the tree, maple is divided into sapwood, the lighter outer layer that carries sap, and heartwood, the darker inner core. Additionally, maple can have decorative grain patterns such as bird’s eye, curly, or quilted, which are valued for their unique appearance in high-quality wood products.
This selection of boards is unique for their individual patterns, comprising of heartwood and sapwood. We like to create something different here rather than confine to the waste pile.
